Certifications

NSF 61

NSF International (National Sanitation Foundation) was created to develop common standards of materials and processes in the areas of public health, safety and environmental protection.
H.Fontaine Ltd. holds the NSF/AINSI 61 certification, which ensures that products, (components and materials) which come in contact with drinking water are safe.

CWB

H.Fontaine Ltd. holds certification by the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) for fusion welding of steel (CSA W47.1). The specifications CSA W47.1 cover certification requirements for companies and the qualification requirements for welding supervisors, welding engineers, welders and welding procedures, as well as equipment, quality of execution and documentation.

CE

The CE marking indicates that the product on which it is affixed conforms to relevant European directives. The manufacturer who uses it certifies that all fundamental safety requirements were followed and that he has produced a certificate of conformance in regards to that product.
H.Fontaine Ltd. has used the CE marking on all its products for Europe since 2003.

ISO 9001: 2000

HFontaine Ltd. , Fontaine Alliance and Corporation Fontaine International first obtained their ISO 9001 Certification in 1997 and are now certified ISO 9001: 2000.
The ISO 9001 : 2000 standard is a major international reference which covers manufacturing processes. Essentially it guaranties that all the manufacturing processes used by a company are followed in order to ensure quality throughout.
Fontaine prides itself on the quality of our end product thus the ISO certification is very important to our organization. Fontaine values fit very well with the ISO philosophy.

Certificates

ATEX

The ATEX directive, named after the French ATmosphère EXplosive, covers equipment and protective systems intended for use in a potentially explosive atmosphere. Used along with the CE marking, ATEX allows manufacturers who use it to distribute their products all over Europe without any further requirements being applied with respect to the risks covered. The directive covers a surprisingly large range of equipment, which include Sluice Gates, and other water control equipment manufactured by H.Fontaine Ltd.
ATEX is a directive, therefor there is no certificate delivered. Fontaine has been using ATEX on its products for Europe since 2004.

ACS

In January 2004 H.Fontaine Ltd. obtained its Attestation of Sanitary Conformity (ACS) delivered by CRECEP, one of the three French certified laboratories and supervised by the French Health Ministry.
This certification covers materials in contact with drinking water and is the French equivalent of NSF/AINSI 61 for North America.
